ICTPD is a comprehensive collection of online resources which explores the use of ICT in the classroom to improve learning. The resources are suitable for teachers of all learning areas and age groups and do not require high levels of prior expertise or experience.

The resources are available by annual subscription and consists of around 70 small modules. You can complete as many as you wish and you can work at a pace that suits you. The resources can be optionally supported by face to face workshops, assistance with professional development plans and overall school technology planning.

ICTPD can also provide training in online learning environments and course delivery using web pages and/or Moodle. We can arrange Moodle hosting and support as a part of a professional development package.

ICTPD is the family company of Bryn Jones. He has worked with teachers introducing computer technology to the classroom for over 20 years. He worked in the UK for 8 years and then migrated to Western Australia working at Kwinana SHS and Leeming SHS before moving to the Secondary Education Authority (now Curriculum Council). There he worked on the design and implementation of the new curriculum for Technology and Enterprise which resulted in the courses currently in schools.

For nine years, he worked in teacher education at the University of Notre Dame, Australia where he introduced hundreds of pre-service and in-service teachers to ICT in the classroom. In 2002 he was contracted to design and deliver an online course for 50 teachers in the Northern Territory including some in very remote and isolated areas. The success of this led to other contracts which resulted in him leaving UNDA and working full time with the ICTPD course from the beginning of 2004.

In 2000 and 2002, he won a prestigious Apple Distinguished Educator Award in recognition of his long standing commitment to helping teachers utilise ICT to improve learning.

The ICTPD resources are supported by a team of online tutors who draw on a wide range of experience in many learning areas.

The ICTPD resources are delivered using an online learning environment called Moodle. The Moodle environment was originally developed in WA specifically to support a constructivist approach to online learning and is now used all over the world. Moodle provides course content, forums, an online journal for each participant and a means of communicating with other participants and tutors.

Feedback from participants about Moodle is good and generally they find the environment convenient and easy to use after some familiarisation.
